Test specifications: advanced extension awards
Last updated on: 08/04/2008
First examined in June 2002, the advanced extention award (AEA) was introduced for 18-year-olds as part of the government's response to its report Excellence in Cities. AEA's supersede special papers.
These test-specification downloads provide the aims, scheme of assessment and performance level descriptors for the AEA in each subject. We have also included links to the relevant awarding body website page.
These documents were published by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The regulatory function of QCA is now the responsibility of the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications and monitors national curriculum assessments in England.
