This code of practice, with the National curriculum assessments: regulatory framework (2009), provides the criteria and identifies the processes that we will apply to the regulation of national curriculum assessments, ensures that the assessments reflect the requirements of the national curriculum and that the results are a true reflection of pupils’ level of achievement.

The regulatory function of QCA is now the responsibility of the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications and monitors national curriculum assessments in England.
