National curriculum assessments: revised regulatory framework 2006

This regulatory framework, with the National curriculum assessments: code of practice (2007), provides the criteria and identifies the processes that we will apply to the regulation of national curriculum assessments. The regulatory framework sets out our role as regulator, the criteria against which each assessment will be judged, the regulatory requirements for delivering the national curriculum assessments and the programme and procedures used to monitor those assessments.

This document was published by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The regulatory function of QCA is now the responsibility of the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications and monitors national curriculum assessments in England.
