Pauline Sparkes

Pauline spent several years teaching in schools and colleges in south London before moving in 1996 to the Further Education Development Agency where she was responsible for GNVQs. She joined the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in 1998 to head the team developing exemplar materials for GNVQs but gradually became more involved in the monitoring of awarding bodies and qualifications until in 2004 she joined the National Assessment Agency, taking responsibility for exam series management. Pauline returned to QCA in 2007 as Head of the Awarding Body Performance group, which aims to ensure the safe delivery of qualifications through the monitoring of awarding body systems and processes.
Pauline is Head of Ofqual's Recognition, Accreditation, Awarding Body Performance and Statistics team.
