Accreditation for the Diploma
Last updated on: 28/08/2008
Once awarding bodies are recognised as a component or Diploma awarding body they are in a position to submit qualifications for accreditation.
The accreditation requirements for principal learning, the project and new additional and specialist learning
Awarding bodies must meet the criteria for accreditation of Diploma qualifications at levels 1, 2 and 3 in conjunction with the specific line of learning criteria for principal learning and the line of learning statements produced by the Diploma development partnerships (DDPs).
The lines of learning criteria will enable an awarding body to develop the detail of the constituent units and qualifications for each line of learning.
For the first phase of Diplomas, available for first teaching in 2008, please see the criteria for: construction and the built environment; creative and media; engineering; information technology; and society, health and development.
For the second phase of Diplomas, available for first teaching in 2009, please see criteria for: business, administration and finance; environmental and land-based studies; hair and beauty studies; hospitality; and manufacturing and product design.
For the third phase of Diplomas, available for first teaching in 2010, please see the newly completed criteria for: Public Services, Retail Business, Sport and Active Leisure, and Travel and Tourism .
The Criteria for accreditation of Diploma qualifications levels 1, 2 and 3 and the Diploma lines of learning criteria can both be downloaded from this page.
