Designating units as shared or restricted

Regulatory arrangements for the Qualifications and Credit Framework (Ofqual/08/3726) set out the requirements that will apply to the organisations that operate within, and the qualifications that are accredited into, the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). They specify requirements for a unit-based framework, in which units are the building blocks of all qualifications. The following guidance has been developed to assist organisations recognised to submit units to determine whether the units they submit to the QCF unit databank should be identified as shared or restricted.
