Statistics

At Ofqual we hold information on the total number of full certificates awarded in England, Wales and Northern Ireland during each calendar quarter, for all accredited qualifications. Data for GCSE, GCE, Advanced Extension Awards and GNVQ are sourced from the Joint Council for Qualifications, whilst data for Key Skills is provided by the Department for Children, Schools and Families. We collect data for all other qualification types from Awarding Organisations each calendar quarter.

Currently, all the data that we hold is at the qualification level; that is, no information is collected or held on individual learners, or learner attributes against achievement (apart from learner gender for general qualification data). Learner level data may be sourced from one of the agencies listed under the "Related Links" section of this page.
