Ofqual weather update, Thursday 14 January
14 January 2010
Ofqual was in touch with awarding bodies again this morning (Thursday 14 January) to discuss the adverse weather conditions.
Daily updates from the awarding bodies continue to indicate that staff and teachers have again made fantastic efforts to ensure that exams can go ahead wherever possible or to make alternative arrangements for their candidates.
Any centres that are unable to proceed with exams or make alternative arrangements are asked to contact the awarding body involved as soon as possible. Centres considering making alternative arrangements for their candidates are also urged to contact the awarding body for guidance.
Students are urged to contact their centre for more information.

Ofqual has asked the awarding bodies to provide it with information about the number of centres that were closed due to the adverse weather conditions by February 10, a week after the exam series finishes. This ensures they can focus on exam delivery and supporting centres at this time.
For more information contact the Ofqual press office on 0300 303 3342 or 07798 924552.
