GCSEs and IGCSEs compared

This is the result of a comparability study conducted to determine the suitability of IGCSE for use in state-maintained schools in England. The focus of the work was therefore primarily on the extent to which the IGCSEs met GCSE criteria and corresponding programmes of study required for use in England.
This document was published by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The regulatory function of QCA is now the responsibility of the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications and monitors national curriculum assessments in England.
