GCSE in vocational subjects - MORI report
This report presents quantitative data on how GCSEs in vocational subjects are being used at key stage 4. The purpose of the report was to inform QCA's work developing qualifications at key stage 4, and to inform monitoring activities related to the standard of GCSEs. It looks at:
- teachers' experience of the GCSEs in vocational subjects
- subjects changing as the qualifications become more familiar and embedded
- the extent to which teachers are happier with the results and what their students are achieving
- how the courses are taught and what types of industrial links and vocational applications are being used
- the attitudes that teachers hold towards the new GCSEs and types of support they've found useful as they prepare students for their examinations.
This document was published by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The regulatory function of QCA is now the responsibility of the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications and monitors national curriculum assessments in England.
