Standard accreditation process
Last updated on: 12/03/2008
All awarding bodies that are not eligible to use the five-day accreditation process should use the standard accreditation process to submit proposals for new qualifications and extension, amendment, withdrawal and pilot proposals.
The standard accreditation process is fully supported by a web-based system. The system allows awarding bodies to attach their supporting evidence and build up a bank of documents with their proposal submissions. In doing so they must follow the process outlined in the Web-based accreditation user guide, which can be downloaded from this page.
Amending a qualification
If, during the accreditation period, the awarding organisation wishes to amend any aspect of a qualification, it must enter into early dialogue with the regulator and then complete a qualification amendment proposal via the web-based accreditation system. The regulators will review the request online and respond accordingly.
