Awarding body reports
The regulators produce post-accreditation monitoring reports on awarding bodies recognised to deliver accredited qualifications. These reports are based on findings from monitoring an awarding body's systems and procedures against the regulatory criteria.
The regulators give the awarding body an opportunity to respond to the findings, and this response is published at the same time as the post-accreditation monitoring report.
Reports on the following awarding bodies, and the awarding body's response, can be accessed below. These documents were published by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The regulatory function of QCA is now the responsibility of the Office for the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications and monitors national curriculum assessments in England. These reports may identify accreditation conditions, which set out actions that the awarding body must take to fully meet the criteria. The awarding body must agree a timetable with the regulators for completing these conditions. The regulators then monitor the awarding body against this timetable.
Post-accreditation monitoring reports and responses for other awarding bodies will appear on this page as they are published.
Annual reports
The regulators also produce annual reports on findings from post-accreditation monitoring activities for different awarding bodies. These reports outline the methods used to monitor awarding bodies and highlight strengths and weaknesses identified from the monitoring activities, and can be downloaded from this page.
Since the 2002–3 report, the regulators have monitored awarding bodies against new criteria, which place a greater emphasis on the awarding bodies' quality assurance arrangements and create greater transparency in regulation.
