A review of regulatory documents relating to qualification regulation, design and development, with a specific emphasis on qualification and subject criteria. The purpose is to achieve clarity over the regulatory requirements and identification of the most appropriate language for expressing the requirements to enable awarding organisations to meet them in full.
It is imperative that the research is completed by March 2012 and it should involve desk research in conjunction with gathering information from those involved in the production of the regulatory requirements and documents relating to the design and development of qualifications. These will include DfE, Ofqual, CCEA, DfES and the primary users of the regulatory documents, specifically the awarding organisations recognised to offer GCSE and GCE qualifications.
