We are inviting tenders from recognised awarding organisations that award (or contribute to the award of) asessments results.
Research funded under this project is to investigate specific aspects of validy of regulted assessments. When conducting validity studies, a clear understanding of the purposes of the assessment and the proposed interpretation of the results is essential For studies supported by the specification, uses or results from regulated assessments will be limited to certification at individual students level:
- For National Curriculum assessments: Reporting
- For GCSEs: Certification (and employment)
- For GCEs: Certification, university enterance, and employment
- Vocational qualifications: Certification, progression, employment and entry to university
For National Curriculum assessments and general ualifications, final results for individuals are reported using performance categories and should therefore be interpreted in terms of the level of attainment in the curriculum as required by the performance standards which are pre-defined.
To undertake this work you will need to You will also need to demonstrate sufficient research, statistical and technical expertise. This may require collaboration between agencies, or between an agency and an aceademic department or independent experts. Ofqual is keen to support collaborative tenders.
