Ofqual congratulates students on their results

Kathleen Tattersall, Chair of Ofqual, has praised the students who receive their GCSE results today.

"Congratulations to all those collecting their GCSE results today, they can be very proud of what they have achieved. Their achievements show hard work and commitment to their studies.

"GCSEs are a well respected qualification recognised by employers and educational institutions and are an important foundation for the students' future. I would also like to congratulate the very first students to gain a Diploma.

"Candidates, employers and education providers can have confidence that these results are a fair record of the students' achievements and abilities."
