Congratulations on results day

Isabel Nisbet, Chief Executive of Ofqual, has congratulated all those receiving their A and AS level, or Diploma results today, saying they can be proud of their grades following their hard work and commitment over the past year or two.
"Everyone receiving their results today can be confident that these are rigorous and challenging qualifications and that the grades have been awarded fairly," comments Isabel.
"This is a particularly stressful year for students, because of the intense competition for university places. It is important for them to know that their achievements deserve our respect and congratulations. It is also vital for students, their parents, universities and prospective employers to know that the grades awarded today are accurate, fair and consistent and that standards have been maintained.
"Some A level candidates will have received the new A* grade, which demonstrates exceptional ability in the most difficult part of the A level. But all grades are important indications of achievement, and open doors for the future.
"Congratulations to all candidates for your achievements today and best wishes for the future. "
