Fake qualification certificates

On 29th October 2010, following an investigation by Birmingham Trading Standards, Mr David Fox, the director of an online company trading under the name of Business Digest Limited was given a three year prison sentence. Mr Fox had been charged and found guilty of fraud, trademarks, copyright designs and Patents Act offences.

Business Digest Limited offered fake qualification certificates for a number of Ofqual-recognised awarding organisations and regulated qualifications, including GCSE and BTEC.

We worked with Birmingham Trading Standards to assist them with putting together their case and subsequent prosecution.
