Ofqual produces various statistical summaries and analyses, covering general and vocational qualifications, to help you understand the qualifications market.

We receive data for GCSEs and GCEs (A and AS levels) from the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).

For all other qualification types we collect data from all recognised awarding organisations each calendar quarter. This covers the total number of achievements recorded for all regulated qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (data for Key Skills has only been collected by Ofqual since late 2009; earlier data was collected by the QCDA’s Tests and Examinations Support Group).

Currently, all the data that we hold is at qualification level; that is, no information is collected or held on individual learners, or learner attributes against achievement (apart from learner gender for general qualification data).
