Access arrangements for GCSE and GCE

Awarding organisations must ensure that candidates with particular requirements can demonstrate their skills, knowledge and understanding, for example by providing modified question papers for candidates with visual impairments.

Ofqual collects and reports information on the total number of access arrangements in the GCSE and GCE summer examination series in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. No geographic breakdown of the data is currently published.

In addition to the professional and production staff at Ofqual, CCEA and DCELLS, pre-release access to the statistics of up to 24 hours is granted to the following postholders:

Department for Education: Examinations Delivery team leader; Senior Press Officer

CCEA:  Communications Manager

AQA: PR & Media relations manager

OCR: Group Director, Public Affairs

WJEC/CBAC: Marketing & Communications Manager

Edexcel: Head of UK Corporate Affairs

JCQ:  Head of Policy and Communications
